a letter from the director:
As I reflect on m
y time with Meals on Wheels, I am filled with both gratitude and awe. From my very first day, I knew I had made one of the best decisions of my life. Although I had never worked in the nonprofit sector before, it felt as though everything I had done up to that point had prepared me for this role. I have always had a servant’s heart, and through this work, it found its true purpose.
What has touched me most are the people — the dedicated volunteers who show up day after day with compassion and commitment, the clients whose gratitude and resilience remind me why we do what we do, and the community partners who stand beside us to ensure that no one is left unseen or hungry. Each meal delivered, each smile shared, and each challenge overcome has shaped me in ways I never could have imagined.
This journey has taught me that leadership in service is not about titles, recognition, or position, but about empathy, resilience, and humility. It’s about showing up, listening, and doing what needs to be done — even when no one is watching. Meals on Wheels has strengthened my sense of purpose and deepened my belief in the power of community, compassion, and human connection.
As I look ahead, I carry with me the lessons, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. I will forever be proud to have been part of an organization that feeds both the body and the soul.
With heartfelt gratitude,
