Ways to Give: FAQ
Have questions about how you can help? Because we operate without government funding, we rely entirely on the generosity of people like you. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about how we are funded, the different ways you can give, and how your support directly impacts the lives of Pasco County seniors.

We are a community-funded organization that operates without government funding. We rely strictly on the generosity of our neighbors and partners. Our funding comes through gifts, fundraisers, and grants from local, regional, and state-level organizations, as well as vital contributions from churches, nearby local businesses, memorial gifts, and kind individuals like you.
We pride ourselves on financial efficiency. Approximately 90% of every dollar donated goes directly toward the purchase, preparation, and delivery of meals for homebound seniors in Pasco County.
The remaining 10% provides essential program support to ensure those meals are delivered safely and reliably. This includes maintaining our delivery fleet and kitchen equipment, as well as upholding strict safety standards—from preparing food in certified kitchens to conducting rigorous background checks on all personnel. These funds also support specialized training for our drivers to monitor senior well-being and fuel the outreach efforts necessary to keep our program sustainable for years to come.
Because we do not receive government funding, we keep our overhead costs as low as possible to ensure that your generosity has the maximum impact on our clients.
Yes. All donations made to Meals on Wheels Pasco stay right here in our community to serve our local residents.

Absolutely! At Meals on Wheels Pasco, our volunteers are the heart and soul of what we do. While financial gifts keep our kitchen running, your "gift of time" ensures that no senior in our community has to face hunger or isolation alone.
There are several ways you can get involved:
• Delivery Driver: Use your own vehicle to deliver hot meals to seniors. This is often the most rewarding role, as you provide the friendly smile and wellness check our neighbors look forward to every day.
• Ride-Along Partner: Not ready to drive? You can join a driver to help navigate and bring meals from the car to the front door.
• Kitchen & Pantry Helper: Help our culinary team portion meals, pack delivery bags, or organize our pantry to ensure everything is ready for the morning rush.
• Donation Pickup: Help us collect food and supply donations from our local corporate partners and supporters around Pasco County.
